However, nobody will tell you that challenges are actually on the other side of university life. Nowadays, most youths are encouraged to be an entrepreneur, but you know what? Your degree can allow you to enter the corporate world, but your skills make you survive.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DISCIPLINE AND ENTREPRENEUR

...the act of making money
In the University, you learn what is given in a syllabus, as structured around a particular discipline which involves some electives courses from other disciplines that are related; but if you want to be an entrepreneur or learn the act of making money, which of course is learnable and teachable, you need to think beyond degree, and take the bull by its horn. Take a critical look at apprentice practice by South Easterners, you will appreciate what I'm insinuating, though, it has its own shortcomings.
At this juncture, I will be emphasizing critically, a few things that are not taught in the tertiary institutes but are required to be a successful entrepreneur.

This is lesson number one. An entrepreneur fails many times before he or she succeeds! Every entrepreneur faces failure on their way to success, but this is not the end of life. Failure is a continuous process and rises from failure is a bold step towards success, but it takes determination to overcome failure in life. Examine yourself! How determining are you to actualize your goal(s) in life?
However, nobody will teach you in university how to prepare for failure or for not getting a job. This is something you learn in the outside world when life tests you.
In a corporate world, failure is a very normal thing, but how you deal with it make all the difference.

2. How to Raise Money

lesson number two. Raising money for a startup is not a piece of cake! Its paperwork is very complex. The banks and investors expect you to submit a detailed business plan that describes everything about the product or service from how it works to how it will generate revenue.
Further, you can consult a financial planner for accounting and tax advice. In this case, you could consult EBA Associate free on +234-803-770-3103. It will help you to negotiate with investors and banks.
Nobody will teach you how to convince someone to invest in your business. No worries! Skills like convincing power develop with every attempt.

3. Think out of the box

Most times, in school, we get a syllabus for every subject. However, outside the school, in a corporate world, ambiguity rules. If you don't dare to try something new, you will never come up with something unique. In a competitive and dynamic world, if you want to lead in the industry, you need to think out of the box. In the end, being innovative and creative is the key.

4. Become a Leader

Bear in mind that, there is a difference between a leader and a manager. In other words, all managers are not leaders, but l can say to an extent, most leaders are managers.

Who is a manager? A manager is that person who performs the functions of management (planning, organizing, directing & controlling) and occurs a formal position. The act of management can be learned from the university.

Who is a leader? A leader, however, is anyone who can influence others to pursue certain goals relevant to the group, not necessarily occur a formal position, but whose authority lies on general acceptance.

Being a good leader is not everyone's cup of tea! A leader wears so many hats and handles so many responsibilities on his own. Every entrepreneur is not a leader, but every leader can become an entrepreneur. But, you won't learn how to be a great leader in school or university. For you to be an exceptional entrepreneur, you have to be a leader, not a manager.
In the journey of life, your lessons and failure will tell you what it takes to become a great leader.

In my next publication, I will explain in clear and precise terms, the three bases of distinguishing between a leader and a manager.

In the University, you are a free bird, you can enjoy leisure time any day. However, that won't happen in the corporate world. To run a successful startup you are going to work for 24/7, no matter how tired you feel. So, when your friends are enjoying happy hour, don't feel upset about preparing a business plan. In the end, it is all about priority, it's OK to sacrifice a few things to achieve bigger goals.
