Mastering the Act of Task Prioritization at Workplace is encrusted in work performance, and performance is fundamental to career and business growth.
WHAT
IS PRIORITIZATION, AND HOW TO WE SHOULD PRIORITIZATION
Prioritization refers to the action or process of
deciding the relative importance or urgency of a thing or things. Priority
means something that comes first in your mind before all other options. At the
workplace, meeting and exceeding your expectations will require you to
prioritize your tasks as assigned.
If you make every endeavour to do the proper thing at a time, you'll have spear time. It comes down to priorities and making good decisions.
The first approach is classifying your tasks into
Urgent and Important. All tasks are significant.
Do the urgent ones first. Then the
important ones can follow. In doing this, you must
first know what is urgent. Some of us classify important tasks as urgent.

TO CLASSIFY YOUR TASKS
- Have a checklist that incorporates all tasks in one
- Pinpoint what is essential: Understanding the goals
- Highlight what is urgent
- Prioritize based on primacy and urgency
- Avoid vying priorities
- Consider effort
Tip: You can ask yourself, what could possibly be delayed or go wrong if I don't attend to this NOW; instead of leaving it till later. That's your cue.
BE REALISTIC WITH THE PRIORITIZATION OF
TASK
Irrespective of how well you prioritize, some distractions are
impossible to avoid. It’s vital to be realistic in setting goals and
prioritizing tasks. Otherwise, you’ll develop false anticipations of those
around you, and you will regularly feel you are slipping behind.
Remember, the essence
of prioritization is to spend time working on the pressing tasks, things that
will make a disparity in the long run and move you on the right path.
RESEARCHINDICATION OF TASK PRIORITIZATION
Studies have shown that the things you put as a
priority might not be crucial enough.
Start your day by listing out your tasks for the day
and sorting them into Urgent and Important. That is how to prioritize our daily
tasks.
For
example
Eating food is necessary, but it is not urgent if
there are no health conditions dependent on eating.
Going to the restroom when you are extremely- pressed
is ‘urgent’ because if you do not do
it immediately, you might mess yourself up, and it is not an idea for the
kidneys
Make task prioritization a daily routine. It helps you
stay organized, active and fulfilled.
